DCYP has been awarded the commission by Durham County Council for a Mobile Sexual Health Unit again,
to visit areas in County Durham….call in for cuppa and chat it would be great to see you.

Garfield Weston Award

Established in 1958, the Garfield Weston Foundation is a family-founded charitable grant-making trust which now gives away approximately £80 million a year to charities across the UK. DCYP, have been fortunate enough to have been given a major donation by the trust which will help with the continuation of youth delivery work across County Durham. 

Ambition Quality Bronze Award

Durham City Youth Project was awarded the Ambition Quality Bronze quality mark. We were measured on 10 quality areas:

Inter-generational Events

Afternoon Tea, Pie and Peas Supper, Flower Arranging Demonstration and Christmas Lunch with the isolated and elderly residents of Framwellgate Moor. Our young volunteers from the Youth Council hosted these events…thanks to County Durham Community Foundation and #I will for making this possible.

Young Citizens Democracy Ambassadors

Our Youth Council took part in the Youth Citizens Democracy Ambassadors Award where they learnt about democracy and to have a say in the local area
as well as the project.  They won the award for engaging other young people in politics and social media.
