A Royal Invitation
The project was lucky enough to gain an invite to Buckingham Palace to celebrate Garfield and Weston’s Foundation 60th Anniversary Party in the presence of the Prince of Wales. The Foundation is a valued supporter of Durham City Youth Project and currently supports our Duke of Edinburgh session’s helping young people gain employability skills through volunteering, learning new skills and pushing boundaries on camping and hiking expeditions.

County Durham & Darlington NHS Health Improvement Fund have funded #Sound Minds, “Wellbeing and Healthy Relationship Workshops” at Seaham High School.
Our Youth Council took part in the Youth Citizens Democracy Ambassadors Award where they learnt about democracy and to have a say in the local area
as well as the project. They won the award for engaging other young people in politics and social media.
Tesco Durham kindly supported DCYP in allowing us to do a “bucket collection” which raised funds for our Duke of Edinburgh Award.
DCYP has once again been awarded the commission by Durham County Council for the Mobile Sexual Health Unit,
to visit areas in County Durham….call in for a hot chocolate and chat it would be great to see you.
